Laina Scolnick - Physical Therapist & Certified Pilated Instructor

Laina is a licensed Physical Therapist with a specialized treatment focus on women's health issues such as pre/post natal related conditions, urinary incontinence and pelvic pain.

PreggiPower was developed by Laina as she begun to see a growing need for safe exercise programs during and following pregnancy.

After graduating in Physical Therapy from the University of Melbourne, Australia, Laina begun to focus her practice in the women's health arena primarily treating women during and after pregnancy. Through manual treatment and rehabilitation of various injuries with her pregnant clientele, she gained tremendous insight into the specific needs of the pregnant client.

Drawing from nine years of experience as a fitness leader, Pilates and Fitball instructor,
Laina developed an exercise training program which could safely and effectively challenge her clients regardless of their prior fitness level.

Laina has lead workshops locally and internationally for pregnant women and fitness professionals to teach them about exercise safety during and after pregnancy.

Tisha Taylor

Tisha Taylor has been part of the PreggiPower team since May 2007 teaching both PreggiPower and Mom & Baby Fitness classes

Here's what Tisha has to say about her experience:

Children are an inspiration to me and I feel that we can learn a lot from our children today. I have a professional teaching license and have taught and worked with kids of all ages. I recently had my first child, a baby girl named Beate Grace. Since having Bea, I have chosen to stay at home and use my teaching career on her rather than 32 5th graders. Because I made the decision to stay at home, I truly enjoy my "personal time" coming to the JCC and teaching pre and post natal fitness classes. I loved being pregnant and felt amazing the entire time. I also did PreggiPower throughout my pregnancy so I know how you feel when you're there. Even though you'd rather be on the couch sleeping or eating, exercising during pregnancy is the best decision you can make. My passions are teaching- both kids and adults, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I often travel back home to Iowa to see the grandparents and have 2 sisters that live in Dillon, CO so we spend a lot of time up there snowboarding, hiking, and just enjoying the outdoors. I look forward to seeing you at PreggiPower Prenatal Fitness classes and then meeting your new little one during Mom & Baby Pilates!

Julie Hanna Smith

Here's what Julie has to say about her experience:

Hi! My name is Julie Hanna Smith and I have been teaching PreggiPower since August 2006. I started teaching classes when I was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with my son Jude. I also have a daughter, Ella, who was born in 2004.

Health and fitness have always been one of my passions. When I can find spare time I am a triathlete and runner. I even met my husband at a triathlon! Having completed a number of triathlons and marathons, my proudest athletic moment was completing the Ironman Triathlon in Lake Placid, New York. Right after that I became pregnant with Ella, however, I could not find a prenatal class that supported my fitness level. At that time, I did not live in Denver so I couldn't workout with PreggiPower. When I found out I was pregnant again, this time in Denver, I was so happy to find PreggiPower. I loved it so much I decided to teach it.

Besides teaching PreggiPower - I like to run, cycle, snowshoe, do yoga, read, and just hang out with my family. I look forward to seeing you in class sometime soon.
